Meet Melissa Miller

I've developed a lot of great friendships that I wouldn't have otherwise if it weren't for coming to RydeOn! It's about encouraging and supporting each other to reach our goals

Certifications: Mad Dogg Spinning, Keiser M3

A high school and college volleyball athlete, Melissa started training with RydeOn! in December 2011 to get back in shape after being away from her sport for several years to prepare for The Big House 10K run. After falling in love with indoor cycling, Melissa started out team teaching in November 2012 and has been in the regular weekend rotation since February 2013 as a spinning instructor.

After spending several years on the weight-loss/weight-gain roller coaster, Melissa says that she loves spinning in part because the friends she has made at RydeOn! inspire and motivate her to stick with her exercise program. She says she became RydeOn! instructor because she loves helping people accomplish goals that they believe are out of reach.

“We all have our days when we're lacking in the motivation department,” she says, “but I have developed so many great friendships through sports and fitness that as soon as I walk through the doors to work out and see a friend's face, all that lack of motivation goes out the window and I feel energized and know that's exactly where I should be.”

“I want my students to celebrate their accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Stepping through that door is an accomplishment that should be recognized. It's my job to create classes that allow my students to grow stronger, mentally and physically. To push them, but make sure they have fun in the process.”

Melissa says that, for her, Training for Life, “...means just that – it's for life! It's not a quick fix or a fad diet; it's a way of life. It's about about finding something that works for you, that you enjoy, and something you can see lasting results from.  Something that makes you feel good, even when it's hard!

In addition to her work with RydeOn!, Melissa is training for a half marathon in October 2013.

Melissa on RydeOn!:  I've developed a lot of great friendships that I wouldn't have otherwise if it weren't for coming to RydeOn!. This is my extended family. It's about encouraging and supporting each other to reach our goals whether I'm riding in a class or I'm on the instructor bike.
