More than 100 Ryders pedaled, our instructors led the charge, and our greater community (including local businesses) responded enthusiastically. The result? On Saturday, Feb. 9, we came together to raise a total of $7,200 for cyclists with disabilities.

In total, our 2nd Annual Ryde-A-Thon indoor cycling marathon raised $3,600, which was matched by Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan and C.S. Mott Children's Hospital for this summer's Programs to Educate All Cyclists (PEAC) summer session right here in Saline.

In addition, thanks to business sponsors we were able to offer more than $1,000 in raffle prizes and keep everyone well nourished and hydrated throughout the event – making sure the energy stayed high and our teams stayed motivated!

When the two of us founded RydeOn! together in 2011, we wanted to be sure that our indoor cycling business would benefit our community in several ways; not just helping individuals lead healthier, happier lives, but also by paying forward the many gifts we've received both personally and as small business owners in the greater Ann Arbor area. Our yearly PEAC event helps us do that in a way that is directly related to our mission – and not only that, but Liz Horvat and the rest of the PEAC crew are a joy to work with!

We'd like to give a special shout-out to some of the most creatively-named teams this side of Roller Derby including the Byker Babes, the 1045 Zulu Crew, Whitmore's Wheelies, and Riding with Scissors, who filled this year's event with zany fun.

We also want to point out the fantastic support of our corporate sponsors, who made sure that every dollar raised is going straight to PEAC and not to event expenses. When you're out and about this year, please consider supporting these local establishments that have been so generous to PEAC and our Ryde-A-Thon:

Tippins Specialty Wine & Foods

Tree Fort Bikes

University of Michigan Athletic Department

Wheels in Motion

This year's Ryde-A-Thon may be over, but our area's cyclists with disabilities still need support. If you can, please donate here  to help keep PEAC peddlin' strong! Also, if our Ryde-A-Thon was your first experience of indoor cycling with RydeOn! and you can't wait for more, a quick click here will get you started with classes.
