Gearing Up for the Kids – RydeOn! Fifty Team Forming for the 2012 Wish-A-Mile

For the yearly Wish-A-Mile event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan we are creating a RydeOn! indoor cycling team to train for the Sunday, July 28th fifty-mile loop! Join us!

Last year we were so inspired by Fred Farrand's dedication to the yearly Wish-A-Mile event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan that we chipped in a matching gift of $250 – that is, we matched donations from our other clients and the wider Saline/Ann Arbor community up to $250.

This year we're taking our commitment several steps further. Not only is Christina Turner training for the entire three-hundred Wish-A-Mile journey, but a dear client, Tina Farraro of Saline, has offered to take the lead in creating a RydeOn! indoor cycling team to train for the Sunday, July 28th fifty-mile loop!

Wish-A-Mile is an annual fundraising event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan, which grants the wishes of our state's children who are living with life-threatening illnesses. You can learn more about Make-A-Wish of Michigan here.

Between now and July we'll be featuring articles about Tina and Fred's progress as well as tips to help prepare Ryders for the task of taking on a fifty-mile event – whether you want to prepare for Wish-A-Mile or another charity ride. Christina will jump in with occasional reflections on why this particular charity is so important to her. And, of course, we'll continue sharing all of the information and tips we can to help you obtain your health and fitness goals – information and tips you can also use to prepare for Wish-A-Mile and other charity events. (You can also can start getting in great shape for charity events by joining the 2013 class at RydeOn! University!)

At RydeOn!, we're not just about decreasing waistlines – as we've shared many times before, Christina and I share a philosophy that our work is about Training for Life. To us, that means overall personal fitness – and it also means contributing to the “health and fitness” of our greater Saline/Ann Arbor community. Getting involved with Wish-A-Mile is just a natural extension of this commitment.
