Auditions for "Silent Night: The Real(ish) Story"

Saline Area Players hold open auditions for kids ages
5 years old through adults  from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, October 14
& Tuesday, October 15 at Liberty School, 7265 N. Ann Arbor St, Saline.  Auditioners should come to only one of the

audition dates.  Callbacks, if needed,
will be October 17. Rehearsals will begin the week of October 21 and will be two
evenings a week (M-Th), and Saturdays from 9-12. The show will be performed at Stone
Arch Arts and Events December 5-8.

This play was written by
Kara Cardella, who will also direct.  It
tells the story, with a few embellishments, of how the beloved Christmas carol,
“Silent Night,” was written.  A young
priest, an Austrian village, and an accidentally damaged organ all took part in
the creation of this classic hymn.  With
creative elaborations, some memorable characters, and favorite holiday tunes,
this staging of the almost catastrophe will be a delight for the whole family.

Auditions
will consist of singing a familiar Christmas carol, theater games, and cold
readings from the script. Auditioners do not need to prepare anything prior to

the auditions and are invited to come to one of the two audition nights (Oct  14 or 15).
Be prepared to move and try new things. Actors of all ages are invited

to audition and they do not necessarily have to be the exact ages
specified.  Additional audition
information, including character descriptions, is available on the website, www.salineareaplayers.org.  Plan to come a few minutes early to the

auditions to fill out an audition form (or download one from our website).  For additional information or questions,
please email silentnight@salineareaplayers.org
