"Back in August of 1994, Bob Phillips, the Fiddlers' founder, gathered 22 high school string musicians with one or two years of informal fiddling instruction," Visovatti said. Last year, Pineapple House held extended hours for the holiday season: From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The Saline shop features eclectic wares and is always getting new products.
Saline’s Merchant Square has a new resident. Reincarnations Resale has been open for business for about a month, and its owner, Michele Ingalls, said she has been surprised by the reception she has received so far. “I have been just overwhelmed by the welcome and the kindness (from Saline). I couldn’t have asked for anything more,” Ingalls said. The store features a large variety of objects, both from consignment and her personal hunting through estate sales and auctions. Old license plates and tools hang on the walls of the shop, and knick-knacks are scattered on all the flat surfaces. Ingalls said she’s pretty liberal about what she’s accepting, since she’s not sure what will or won’t sell in Saline. The things people bring in are …

Lend a hand this holiday season by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore or constructing a home.
This is the fourth in a 30-day series of ways Patch community members can give back. We hope you'll take part in this 30 Days of Giving, and take the spirit beyond the holidays, because there is "need" all year long. Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County is a nonprofit organization with a mission to eliminate poverty and ensure that those in need have a decent place to live. The organization builds and renovates houses annually and is always in need of a crew of volunteers for completing house projects and manning the ReStore, which is located at 150 Osmun St. in Pontiac. Volunteers for construction projects are still needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the holiday season; volunteers for ReStore are needed Tuesday through Saturday. …
