1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured After I-94 Crash in Pittsfield Township

Eastbound 1-94 near State Street was closed for nearly three hours Saturday morning while police investigated the scene.

One person is dead and two others are critically injured following a car accident Saturday morning on eastbound I-94 near State Street, according to Pittsfield Township Police. According to police, the three-car accident occurred at 8 a.m. Fire crews arrived to find two people in one of the vehicles pinned in and requiring extrication Fire crews arrived to find a three-vehicle accident with multiple injuries. Two people in one of the vehicles were pinned in and required extended extrication, police said. They were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Police Find Body Believed to be Missing Trenton Teen

Although efforts to positively identify the body were unsuccessful at this time, police believe it to be Nathan Alan Tracy of Trenton.

A body found at about 10:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept., 8 in Pittsfield Township is believed to be that of a Trenton teen who was reported missing after a hit and run crash, according to police. Police said a maintenance worker from a nearby condominium complex, Weatherstone Condos, found the deceased body of a male believed to be 19-year-old Nathan Alan Tracy. The body was found in a retention pond located near the entrance of the Weatherstone complex, according to a release from the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety. Pittsfield police were called and responded to recover the body and investigate the scene. Armed Robber Strikes Bank of America on Michigan Avenue

The suspect fled in a silver Chevy Malibu.

Pittsfield Township police are responding to bank robbery at Bank of America on Michigan Avenue near Moon Road. At 12:25 p.m. a man armed with hand gun and held up the bank, according to an alert sent out by Pittsfield Township police. There were no injuries. He left the bank in a silver Chevy Malibu. The suspect was described as a 20 to 30-year-old black make with a skinny build. He was wearing black and red gloves, long black jeans, a dark mask and tan Carhartt jacket with a gold and yellow hoodie, according to police. He was also carrying a black bag. Anyone who sees a person or vehicle fitting this description is asked to call 9-1-1.

Pittsfield Police: Lodi Man Found Passed Out With Stolen Goods in Car

A 20-year-old Lodi man faces several charges after he was found passed out at the wheel of a vehicle containing goods taken in a Lodi Township burglary, according to a report.

Pittsfield Township Police are seeking charges against a 20-year-old Lodi Township man found passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle containing several items police believe were taken from a burglarized home. At 3:30 a.m. July 1, police responded to the area of Michigan Avenue and Carpenter Road for a report of a male passed out behind the vehicle, according to a news release issued by Pittsfield Township police Monday. The man was arrested on charge of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. Inside the vehicle, police found property they did not believe belonged to the suspect, The investigation later revealed that the property might have been taken during an unreported burglary of a Lodi Township home. Pittsfield Police: Cab Driver Strong-Armed at Wellesely Gardens

Police say the suspect inquired about a ride before grabbing money from the cab driver's pocket and fleeing.

A 56-year-old cab driver from Ann Arbor was strong-armed while at Wellesley Gardens Condominiums to pick up a fare at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to Pittsfield Township Police. The victim was approached by a man claiming he needed a ride, police said. The man then forcefully removed cash from the cab driver’s shirt pocket, according to a media release, then ran from the scene. No weapon was seen or implied during the incident, according to police. The suspect was described as a black male, 18-25 years old, and 5’8 to 5’10 with a medium build. He was also described as having a clean shave and a crooked smile, according to the report. Carpenter Road Comerica Bank Held Up By Armed Robber

The incident is being investigated by Pittsfield Township Police detectives.

An armed robber held up Comerica Bank (2795 Carpenter Rd., Pittsfield Twp.) at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Pittsfield Township police. According to the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety, the suspect entered the bank brandishing a firearm and ordered the clerk to hand over cash. The clerk handed money to the suspect, who fled the area.  A University of Michigan K-9 unit assisted in the search but the suspect was not located, according to police. The incident is being investigated by the Pittsfield Township Police Department detective bureau. The suspect was described as 5’6-5’8 male. A 19-year-old Pines of Lake Forest told police he was tied up as four men robbed his home.

In a news release issued Tuesday evening, Pittsfield Township Police said the investigation into Monday's Pines of Lake Forest home invasion has revealed more information about the suspects. On Monday, a 19-year-old resident on the 4100 block of Timber Ridge Drive told police that four males entered his home through a rear glass door, revealed a knife, tied him up and stole items from the residence, according to a report released Monday. Pittsfield Police: Man Tied Up While Suspects Robbed Home

A 19-year-old resident of the Pine of Lake Forest subdivision told police that four males broke into his home, showed a knife, tied him up and robbed the house.

Pittsfield Police are investigating a report of a knife-wielding home invaders who tied up a resident and then stole items from a home in the Pines of Lake Forest subdivision. The 19-year-old resident told police that he was confronted by four males who forced entry into the house on the 4100 block of Timber Ridge Drive through a rear glass door at about 2 p.m. Monday, according to a release issued by Pittsfield police. One of the males displayed a knife and tied up the teen while suspects removed property from the home, according to the report. Pittsfield Police: Drugs Seized in Home After Car Crash

An off-duty Washtenaw deputy followed a fleeing driver back to his home.

Pittsfield Police found approximately $5,000 worth of what they suspect is marijuana after investigating a traffic crash Saturday afternoon. At approximately 3:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a crash at Michigan Avenue and Platt Road. According to a news release issued by Pittsfield Police, an off-duty Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed a vehicle fleeing the scene and followed it to a residence at 6500 W. Michigan Avenue, home to the 29-year-old Pittsfield resident who drove the vehicle. Police say the man admitted to leaving the crash scene because he possessed an invalid license. Pittsfield Police Investigate Reported Armed Robbery at Burger King

Employees say a man pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money.

Pittsfield Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at the Burger King at 6190 W. Michigan Ave. According to a report issued by the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety, employees say a lone gunman entered the restaurant about 10:14 p.m. Wednesday night. He produced a black handgun, pointed it at the 21-year-old male working the register and demanded money, according to the report. The cashier opened a register and handed over an undisclosed amount of money, according to the report, and left on foot. There were no injuries.
