Angela Venditti will soon be heading to Las Vegas to compete in the Miss America Pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Before the Shelby Township resident and former Miss St. Clair Shores competes, supporters can cast a vote for her as People's Choice for Miss America. Click on People's Choice for Miss America to watch Venditti's video vote once before voting ends on Jan. 10. The final pageant when the People's Choice will be named and Miss America will be crowned will be Saturday, Jan. 12, and will be broadcast on WXYZ-TV Channel 7.

Cassidy Nugent, 15, is no stranger to the pageant world. But the Milan resident said she still felt a rush of adrenaline when she was named the 2011 Miss Oakland County Oustanding Teen on Saturday afternoon at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills. Emcees for the event were 2010 title holder Morgan Stocker of St. Clair Shores and Miss Michigan 2009 Nicole Blaszczyk of Novi. A student at Milan High School, Nugent competed in the Miss Michigan Outstanding Teen pageant, held June 17 in Muskegon, finishing in the top 10.
