CBS Detroit posted a list of the best sledding hills in the metro area and Ypsilanti's Rolling Hills Park was on the list.
Nothing says "snow day" like gathering up the kids and heading to the nearest sledding hill for hours of winter fun. Ypsilanti's Rolling Hills Park was included on CBS Detroit's recent list of the best sledding hills in metro Detroit, boasting its 275 drop and fenced in paths to climb back up the hill. ArborWiki says the best sledding hill in Saline is at Mill Pond Park. Other nearby hills on the CBS list include Northville's Cass Benton Park on Hines Drive between Six and Seven Mile Roads and Middlebelt Hill in Westland, on Hines Drive near Middlebelt Road. The Bowley Bridge was rebuilt and rededicated to honor the former Mayor of Brecon Wales.
The Hon. Donald E. Shelton, Washtenaw County Trial Judge, reads the plaque on the new Bowley Bridge at Mill Pond Park. The new bridge was rededicated in honor of Arthur T. Bowley, the former Brecon, Wales mayor credited for forging the relationship between Saline and its twin city, Brecon.

The bridge is named for Arthur T. Bowley, the former Mayor of Brecon, Wales, and a key figure in the relationship between Saline and its Welsh sister city.
Residents of Saline are invited to attend the rededication of the rebuilt Bowley Bridge at Mill Pond Park. The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. Saturday. “The bridge was named for Arthur Bowley, longtime Mayor of Brecon, Wales and one of the real pioneers of our sister city relationship,” said Donald Shelton, the former Saline Mayor who is now Chief Judge in the Washtenaw Trial Court in Ann Arbor. On a beautiful spring day, a couple Saline Area Firefighters provided some fun for kids at Mill Pond Park.
A Saline Area Fire Department truck stopped at Mill Pond Park to fill up the tanks Saturday. What resulted was some good, small town fun.

The Preschool Class of 2011 celebrated the end of this year’s journey at Mill Pond Park in Saline.
Seventy graduates in all, out of 105 students at Pooh Corner Preschool, took the symbolic walk across the Bowley Bridge at Mill Pond Park on June 6-7, to earn their certificate of achievement for preschool. Pooh Corner Preschool is in its 36th year as a stepping stone in child development for Saline students ages 3, 4 and 5. Seven different preschool classes celebrated the end of the year with performances, preschool diplomas and snacks. Families attended the class ceremonies, literally scheduled back to back on either side of the park pavilion, to accommodate such a large number of students. There is a hill at the Rec Center between the tennis courts and the softball fields. It is best for younger kids.   more ›
