Saline Standout Receives Offer to Play Big Ten College Football
Quarterback Tyler Palka led Saline High School to the MHSAA Division 1 regional final in 2012, throwing for 1923 yards and 15 touchdowns along the way.
Following an outstanding senior season, Saline High School quarterback Tyler Palka now has a chance to play Division I college football in the Big Ten Conference. Indiana University has offered the 6-foot, 180-pound senior a spot as a preferred walk-on next fall. A preferred walk-on is promised a roster spot, but is not offered a scholarship. Saginaw Valley State University, which plays in Division II college football, has offered him a full scholarship. Palka said he has not set a timetable as to when he will choose a school. In 2012 he helped lead the Hornets (10-2) to the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 regional final.
