Support the Alley Project? Vote Here!

Saline Main Street can win $2,000 to support a plan to beautify the alley behind the downtown businesses on the southwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Ann Arbor Street.

Would you like to see the alley behind Brecon Grille beautified with lights, tables, plants, decorations, an arch and more? Saline residents can help make it a reality by voting for the project at the Michigan Municipal League's "Let's Save Michigan" placemaking contest page. The contest will award $2,000 to fund the project of one grand prize winner, and will grant multiple awards, ranging from $500 to $2000, to partially or fully fund the projects of runners-up. The alley project is the Saline Main Street program's first. To vote for the project, click here. Years ago when George Anderson was Mayor (we City council) paved and put lights in the alley. I beleive late seventies. Liking to seeing a arch, new lights, and decorations in this walkway. and the taxpayers paying for it are two different things. The city is asking city employees to pay more for their benifits and cutting back employees. The city it appears plans on borrowing close to a million …   more ›
