On Wednesday, Saline High School staff and students showed off their college colors.
Today's Good Morning Saline greeting is from staff at Saline High School. Wednesday, the senior class at Saline High School was invited to wear a shirt representing the college they are attending in the fall. Staff also wore shirts to show where they went to college. Alma Mater Day/College Shirt Day was held so that teachers and staff could see where students are planning to continue their studies and to let the students know where the teachers went to school.

Cadets Mitch Eberle, Seena Sauber and Pierce Fitzpatrick are raising funds so they can attend the Law Enforcement Explorers' National Conference.
Today's Good Morning Saline greeting is from Saline Police Cadets Mitch Eberle, Seena Sauber and Pierce Fitzpatrick. The SPD Cadets are raising money to pay for the Law Enforcement Explorers' National Conference in Fort Collins, Co. Thursday, the visited businesses in downtown Saline in search of support. According the the SPD 2011 report, during 2011, the Saline Police Cadets performed 1,701 hours of volunteer time to the department. This breaks down to 341 hours of community service and 1,360 hours of meetings, administrative tasks, and training. They work all of the parades and community events. They ride patrol with the officers, assist in officer training, and are versed in most functions within the department including dispatch. The …

You can support the SHS music department by test driving a Ford from Briarwood Ford Saturday at Harvest Elementary.
Today's Good Morning Saline video is from members of the Saline High School Marching Band. They're inviting the community to participate in Saturday's Drive One 4UR School at Harvest Elementary. Saline Music Parents has partnered with Briarwood Ford and Ford Motor Company in hopes of raising $6,000 for Saline Area Schools music programs. • Briarwood Ford will donate 14 cars for the test drives. • Ford Motor Company will donate $20 for each person who drives a car. • Each test-drive takes about 10 minutes on a predetermined route. • There will be absolutely no sales pitch. • Drivers must be licensed and at least 18 years of age. • Limited to one driver per household (per address). The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Trapp began his new job in the chamber offices Monday.

Today's Good Morning Saline is from the Saline High School varsity softball team, which improved to 8-2 in the SEC and 13-5 overall when they swept a doubleheader from Skyline Thursday, 11-1 and 10-0. The director of Saline Area Social Service said the local food pantry is running low on stock.
Today's Good Morning Saline is Don Dersnah, Director of Saline Area Social Service. Dersnah said he shelves at the community food pantry are nearly bare. The agency is accepting donations of non-perishable food (canned and boxed food). Donations can be dropped off at 131 E. Michigan Ave., during regular office hours. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Mondays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Saline Area Social Service provides temporary help to individuals, families and seniors in need of advice, counseling, food, medicine, referrals, and other temporary support. Today's Good Morning Saline greeting is from the kids at Harvest Elementary School. They said, "Good morning Saline! We love exercise!" And right after that, led by literacy specialist and certified Zumba instructor Jill Cooper, just about every student in the school embarked upon a high-energy exercise program. It was part of ACES, which stands for All Children Exercising Simultaneously. Each May, millions of school children all over the globe exercise simultaneously in a symbolic gesture of fitness and unity. This non-competitive program has proven to be educational, motivational and fun. Starting its 23rd year worldwide, ACES has reached millions of children, parents, and teachers including participants from more than 50 countries.
