A new Mobil Station is expected to open on West Michigan Avenue Friday, and construction crews are applying the final adjustments to gas pumps on the outside and product displays in the inside of the store. Sam Ajami of Canton is the manager and son of the owner. The family also owns a truck stop on Ecorse Road near Romulus. Ajami had hoped to open the station this summer but met with delays. Nevertheless the delays created a better store, he said. “The longer it took, we started adding stuff,” Adjami said. This “stuff” included a large freezer, attractive wood paneling and expanded product offerings. The station will sell E-85 (85 percent ethanol fuel) as well as traditional fuel mixes.
