Cobblestone Rose, at 101 S. Ann Arbor Street in Saline, carries unique gifts, clothing and home decorating supplies. It has served customers in the Saline area for 20 years.
Step into Cobblestone Rose at 101 S. Ann Arbor Street and you will find it decked out in Christmas trees, garlands, bows, silk flowers, ornaments and figurines. Each October the home decor and gift store closes for a week to decorate the store for the holiday season. Another such transformation occurs after the holidays to highlight spring and summer merchandise. The store will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in February 2013. Originally marketing only dried floral arrangements, the store now offers gifts, clothing, and home decorating items. Owner Karen Hodgson chose to locate her store in Saline because a former business partner lived here and it was close to the Detroit area customer base. The first store was just 600 square feet, …

Local children enjoyed a shopping spree and other entertainment in the company of Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday.
SCIO TWP. — Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies donated their Wednesday evening to help a group of local children buy Christmas gifts for their families at Meijer on Jackson Road in Scio Township. The annual "Shop with a Cop" event involved 42 officers, 24 community volunteers and 53 children selected from schools in Manchester, Chelsea, Dexter, Saline and Northfield. But it was not just a day for shopping. The children made Christmas cards and decorations, had their faces painted, were entertained by Colors the Clown, met Santa, ate pizza, met local leaders and spent some quality time with police officers.
