Briarwood Ford Displays Modern Mindset Behind Old Facade

Briarwood Ford of Saline adapts to the fast-paced modern world with its no hassle quick lane service.

Briarwood Ford has been in Saline for 26 years, but that doesn't stop the dealership from experimenting with new ways to reach customers. Steve Whitener, vice president, purchased the dealership with his partner in 1986. It was originally located in downtown Saline and then moved to its current location at 7070 E. Michigan Ave. in early 1988. The internet altered the way dealerships do business, Whitener said. People research, inquire about pricing and make appointments all online. "We were a little afraid at first. Now people have already narrowed down what vehicle they're interested in," Whitener said. But that, he said, saves the customers and the dealership time. Briarwood Ford Recognized for Family-Friendly Atmosphere

The Saline Ford dealership was recognized by readers of Ann Arbor Family Press.

Briarwood Ford in Saline was selected as the most “Family Friendly Car Dealer” by readers of Ann Arbor Family Press. Good Morning Saline from Nate Lampman and Saline Schools Music Supporters

Today's greeting is from Saline High School Director of Bands, Nate Lampman, and supporters of the Saline Area Schools music programs.

Today's Good Morning greeting is from Nate Lampman, Steve Whitener, John Wiersba and Donna Omichinski. Lampman is Director of Bands at Saline High School. Whitener is co-owner of Briarwood Ford which, along with Ford Motor Company, donated $5,500 to the Saline Music Parents. The money was raised during the Drive One 4 Ur School event held this spring at Harvest Elementary School.  Omichinski and Wiersba are members of the Saline Music Parents, which raises money to provide extra programming for Saline Area Schools music students. Hundred Test Drive Fords in Support of Music Programs

Ford Motor Company is donating $20 for every test drive at Saturday's event, sponsored by Briarwood Ford.

Saline Music Parents partnered with Briarwood Ford and Ford Motor Company in hopes of raising $6,000 for Saline Area Schools music programs during the second annual Drive One 4 Ur School test drive event held at Harvest Elementary School Saturday. Ford Motor Company will contribute $20 to the Saline Music Parents for every test drive. That money will help pay for guest instructors and scholarships in the Saline Area Schools music programs. Briarwood Ford provided 14 vehicles for the event. The most popular were the Ford Mustang, Ford F150 and Ford Explorer. Attendance was solid, despite the constant threat of rain. Last year's event was a rousing success, raising $8,000 for school music programs.

The second annual Drive One 4 Ur School test drive event, sponsored by Briarwood Ford and Ford Motor Company, takes place at Harvest Elementary Saturday.

Good Morning Saline from Members of the SHS Marching Band

You can support the SHS music department by test driving a Ford from Briarwood Ford Saturday at Harvest Elementary.

Today's Good Morning Saline video is from members of the Saline High School Marching Band. They're inviting the community to participate in Saturday's Drive One 4UR School at Harvest Elementary. Saline Music Parents has partnered with Briarwood Ford and Ford Motor Company in hopes of raising $6,000 for Saline Area Schools music programs. •  Briarwood Ford will donate 14 cars for the test drives. •  Ford Motor Company will donate $20 for each person who drives a car. •  Each test-drive takes about 10 minutes on a predetermined route. •  There will be absolutely no sales pitch. •  Drivers must be licensed and at least 18 years of age. •  Limited to one driver per household (per address). The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Good Morning Saline, From Pat Collins at Briarwood Ford

Here is your morning greeting for Dec. 7, 2011.

Today's Good Morning Saline greeter is Pat Collins of Briarwood Ford. Briarwood Ford is a drop off center for Toys for Tots again this year. "We have collected thousands of toys over the past few years that are distributed to local children in need.  We are asking the public to drop off new unwrapped toys in our main show room," said Steven Whitener, co-owner of Briarwood Ford, located at 750 E. Michigan Ave. Residents are also invited to stop at Briarwood Ford and help out a local family by taking a tag from the Salvation Army Angel Tree. From the tree, donors select a tag which lists the gender, age, clothing sizes and special Christmas needs and wishes of a local child.  The donor then purchases gifts for that child and returns them …
