Dean Ledford, 25, Loved Working with Saline's Football Team

Funeral services for Dean Ledford will take place at 11 a..m. Tuesday, July 17, at Saline First Assembly of God

Dean C. Ledford, age 25, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. He was born on June 12, 1987 in Ann Arbor, the son of Dean Allan and Mary Ellen (McCann) Ledford. Dean loved the Lord and devoted his life to him. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, basketball, working out and cooking. He had a passion for sports and loved coaching and working with the Saline School’s Football team. Dean graduated from Northwood University in 2010 and was planning on going back to school to become a teacher. He is survived by his parents, siblings Adam (Tracy) Ledford and Chelsea Ledford, grandparents Hugh McCann and Tom and Arlyn Ledford and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Mary Stutte-Hocking, 98, Worked in Advertising, Was Active in the Community

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Saline

Mary Stutte-Hocking, age 98, died on July 5, 2012 just five days short of her 99th birthday. She was born July 10, 1913 in Nanticoke, PA, the daughter of John and Mary (Roberts) Curran. In October of 1988 she married the Rev. Reginald S. Hocking and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1999. Mary was one of the first residents of Brecon Village in Saline and was a member of the Saline United Methodist Church. She had an extensive career in advertising and worked at The Daily Tribune, Michigan Bell Telephone Company, and Campbell-Ewald Advertising Company. Mary was also a member of the Saline Womans’ Club, Friends of the Library of Saline, a member of the Saline Historical Society, and a volunteer at St. Josephs in Saline. Survivors include …

Funeral For Carl Braun is June 23

Carl John Braun, Jr. leaves behind a daughter and two grandchildren.

In 2004 Carl John Braun, Jr., was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, he lived out a full and joyful life with his family until Wednesday, June 13, 2012 when he peacefully passed away at Heartland Healthcare Center in Plymouth. He was born on May 3, 1936 in Ann Arbor; he was the only child of Carl Sr. and Laura Braun. He grew up on his family’s farm in Saline; in 1962 Carl met and married the love of his life, Betty Lou Alder. Shortly after being married, Carl and Betty welcomed their first and only daughter into the world, Barbara Jean Braun. She was born and raised in Saline. James M. Ruedin,  Jr., age 51, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 8, 2012. He was born on April 30, 1961 to James and Doris (Niemand) Ruedin in Port Washington, NY. Jim married Jodi Jackson on November 12, 2006 in Maui. Jim loved life and lived it to its fullest. He was very athletic and loved to run. Jim was a loving husband and father. He was vivacious, kind-hearted and had a great sense of humor. He was survived by his wife Jodi, children Greer and Mary, his mother Doris and sister Nancy Snyder. Joseph Burman, World War II Veteran, was Father of 4 Children

Joseph G. Burman, age 85, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Saline Evangelical Home. He was born Nov. 19, 1926 in Detroit, the son of Joseph and Lydia (Willer) Burman. On Oct. 15, 1949 he married Virginia Borieo in Detroit, and she survives. Joseph was a United States Navy Veteran and served in World War II. He worked for Detroit Edison for 36 years as a system supervisor. Rena Feldkamp Was a Lifelong Member of the Washtenaw Farm Bureau

Rena M. Feldkamp, age 95, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home. She was born on July 19, 1916 in Clinton, the daughter of Fred J. and Ella May (Hunt) Blumhardt. On Oct. 12, 1939 in Clinton, she married Harold G. Feldkamp and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2000. Rena was a lifelong member of the Washtenaw County Farm Bureau and the Tri-County Sportsmen League. She loved spending time in Ft. Myers, FL especially during the winter months, but more than that she loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. David Miles Niethammer, of Ovid, Michigan. passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. He was 64. David was born June 18, 1947 in Saline, Michigan, the son of Leonard Miles and Verna Pauline (Clevidence) Niethammer. He grew up in Saline and enjoyed spending every summer at the family vacation home at Heart Lake near Gaylord, Michigan. David graduated from Saline High School, Class of 1966. He joined the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. David was a Journeyman Electrician and retired from Lear Manufacturing. Price Marshall Kilway, Saline, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was born in Utah but lived most of his life in Michigan. Mildred Marken, who worked at Universal Die for 35 years, Raised 4 Children

Mildred L. Marken, age 93, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at her home. She was born on March 27, 1919, in Catlin, IL, the daughter of Elmer T. and Hazel M. (Hogg) Shaw. On August 22, 1936 in Whitmore Lake, she married Charles W. Marken Jr. and he preceded her in death on April 25, 1997. Mildred had been employed at Universal Die cast for over 35 years until her retirement. Survivors include three children; Katherine (Claude) Shepard of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Charles (Linda) Marken III of Chelsea, and Vicki L. (Thomas) Marken-Horn of Saline. Ormsby, Father of 2, Was Electrical Inspector for Saline, Milan and York

Funeral services for Stephen Ormsby are at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Our King Lutheran Church.

Stephen E. Ormsby, age 63, died suddenly on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his home. Steve was born August 18, 1948 in Saline, the son of Ted E. and Edith (Way) Ormsby. On June 21, 1969, he married Mary Jane Lambarth and they raised their family in the Saline area. Steve was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, and was stationed in Germany where he and Mary Jane built many friendships and fond memories. After returning to Saline, Steve resumed his work as an electrician and in 1974 he started his business, Ormsby Electric, which he proudly operated with his sons, Mike and Jeff. Steve was also a state licensed electrical inspector for the Cities of Saline and Milan, and York Township. He was admired and often consulted by other …
