Kick off Summer Reading, Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Saline.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Saline to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. For your information

Join the library on Sunday, June 16, from 1-5 pm to kickoff Summer Reading 2013! There will be free ice cream, music, and entertainment for all ages. Bring your camera for photos of Hobbit House and special guests Frog and Toad.

2. In case you missed it

Congratulations to the Class of 2013! Share how talented your graduate is an let us know where they are going to school next year on Saline Patch's Boards.

3. Don't Miss Out

Summer Music Series starts in June and is held weekly (except for the holiday time and Summerfest week) on S. Ann Arbor Street in Downtown Saline from 7-9 p.m. Come down early, visit our businesses and dine outdoors at any of our restaurants.

4. Save the date

Come see why Bloomberg Business Week and Money Magazine recognize the Saline Celtic Festival as one of the reasons Saline is a great place to live and the #1 city in Michigan to raise a family. New this year.
The Michigan Brewers Guild will bring a little more “beer” culture to the cities signature event with craft beers from Bell’s, Arcadia Ales, Ann Arbor Brewing Company and New Holland Brewing Company. The Mastodon Mayhem Challenge Run organized by the Saline Main Street group  will open the festival with a unique obstacle run. This 3 mile dash thru the park will feature mud pits, wall climbing, tire cross, log carry, sit-up and push-up stations water obstacle and more.
