Pet of the Week: Senior Pooch Connor Likes Walks, Car Rides, Quiet Company

Help the Humane Society of Huron Valley find a home for this 10-year-old Jack Russell mix.

Senior animals can make wonderful pets and for many deserving older pets, they will be forever grateful to have a caring home in their later years.

Connor, a 10-year-old wirehaired Jack Russell mix was found all alone and brought to the Humane Society of Huron Valley. We hoped his family would come forward to take him back home but they never did. Connor is a sweet dog who is a bit scared around lots of activity and would much prefer a quiet home without any small children.

Since Connor has been with us, a little over 3 months now, we have learned that he enjoys going for daily walks and when you pick up his leash his tails begins to wag immediately. He is happy to go with you for car rides and would be a nice companion dog. Connor likes soft, stuffed animals and also enjoys his comfy dog bed too. What you see is what you get with Connor. He’s adorable, affectionate and a gentleman.

HSHV does have a wonderful “Senior Person for Senior Pets” adoption promotion which allows anyone over the age of 62, with the means and home to care for a pet, to adopt them free. We waive the adoption fee completely.

HSHV is open daily at 11 a.m. for adoptions. All pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, medically and behaviorally evaluated, and they have a microchip ID all included in their low adoption fee. Please make adoption your first option.
