The fourth annual Saline Summerfest 5K Run/Walk takes place Aug. 11.

Online registration is underway for the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce’s fourth Saline’s Summerfest 5K Run/Walk on Aug. 11, one of the many family fun activities of Saline’s Summerfest August 10-11.

Pre-race day registration fees are $20. There are special pricing for families (three or more from the same address are $15 each) and organizations (four or more from the same business or organization are $18 each). Register online at http://www.goracego.com/search/event.aspx?id=11959

The race begins at 8:30 a.m. at heading north on North Harris Street and snakes through the streets to and and back to City Hall.

“The Chamber’s 5K Run/Walk is both a serious race for the athletically inclined and an enjoyable one for those not on the Olympic track team," said Saline Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Art Trapp. "So come and join us for 30 minutes of fun and physical activity.”

According to Trapp, the Summerfest 5K Run/Walk complements Saline’s Summerfest as it introduces a whole new spectrum of individuals to Summerfest and promotes family fitness. The 2011 race attracted 213 runners from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Texas.
