Saline cards team score of 320 after first day of competition
The Hornets wrapped up the opening day of the 2011 Division 1 boys golf state finals Friday afternoon at Katke-Cousins golf course with a total team score of 320, 23 shots behind opening-round leader, Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central.
Keith Long paced the squad with a 74, while Jackson Lambert (79), Collin Stauder (82), Caleb Wittig (85) and Ian Martin (100) all turned in solid scores on the difficult Katke-Cousins course.
The squad tees off Saturday morning at 8 a.m. on the Katke-Cousins course to start the second round of play.
