Tournament Time: Saline Hopes for Friday Rerun, Milan Faces Tough Ida Team

The Lady Hornets closed their season Friday night with one of their best start-to-finish games of the year, as they evened their season series with Monroe at 1-1.

When district play begins Monday night, the two teams will play a rubber match. The winner goes on and the loser hangs up their sneakers for the season.

If Saline can win, they play Adrian in the semifinal. Saline defeated Adrian earlier this season, 32-24. The Hornets also defeated Ypsilanti Lincoln, 41-34. The lost to Ypsilianti, 58-32. Saline split its two games with Bedford.

Saline plays in MHSAA District 13-A at Ypsilanti High School. Here’s the schedule for the district.

Monday, 5:30 p.m., Ypsilanti-Lincoln vs. Ypsilanti

Monday, 7 p.m., Monroe vs. Saline

Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., Bedford vs. Lincoln or Ypsilanti

Wednesday, 7 p.m., Adrian vs. Saline

Friday, 7 p.m., District Championship game.

Milan

The Lady Big Reds host the MHSAA 37-B girls’ basketball district. They open against Id. The Blue Streaks are always tough and this group is particularly good at shooting from beyond the arc.

Monday, 7 p.m., Milan vs. Ida

Wednesday, 5 p.m., Tecumseh vs. Onsted or Chelsea
