Shwayder, Cruetz go 1-2 and Lead Hornets To Second Straight Win

Elianna Shwayder and Amy Creutz took the top posts at Saturday's South Lyon Invitational

The Saline Hornets girls cross country team is two-for-two.

The girls won the South Lyon Invitational at Island Lake State Park Saturday.  Saline placed five girls in the top 10 and seven girls won individual medals as the Hornets finished with 30 points, 18 better than second place Northville and 78 points better than third place Pioneer.

“We had an excellent race for this early in the season. (These are) promising times for late August and putting seven runners in the top 13 shows good depth,” said coach Michael Smith.
