Saline Soccer Team Battles to 1-1 Draw

The host Hornets scored in the second half to tie Skyline.

The Saline Hornets boys' soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie against Ann Arbor Skyline at Hornet Stadium Thursday.

Saline was down 1-0 after a late first half goal by the Eagles. The Hornets tied it up at 1-1 with 33:21 to play in the game when Eric Williams set up Luke Collins for the tying marker.

Saline's Kyler Jacobs was the busier keeper, turning aside 10 of 11 shots. Saline managed six shots on the Skyline goal. It was the second consecutive tie for the Hornets, who've now gone three games without a win after a five game winning streak. The Hornets try to get back to their winning ways Thursday at Traverse City West. The game begins t 5:30 p.m. They're home again Tuesday to Dexter.
