Saline Field Hockey Hornets Win at Detroit Country Day

The Hornets won 2-1 to improve to 6-4-3.

The Saline field hockey teams took another road trip Monday.

The Hornets visited Detroit Country Day and the varsity team came home with a 2-1 victory to improve to 6-4-3.

Saline controlled the game early, and in the seventh minute, Samantha Dicks set up Amelia Waters, who scored to give Saline a 1-0 lead.

Detroit Country Day School pulled themselves back into the game and started pressure the Hornet defense before tying the game with eight minutes to play.

Saline came out strong in the second half, putting together a couple nice passing attacks. Finally, Rosalie Cambier caned through a couple opponents and scored the winner for the Hornets.

The junior varsity team, meanwhile, played the entire game shorthanded and managed to come away with with a 0-0 tie. Despite being shorthanded, Saline managed several attacks and shots on goal.
