Rec 101: Intro to Trail Running

For those of you who have not done a trail race or run, this will be a chance to get the feel of a trail race in a non-competitive setting.  We'll discuss trail marking and following, trail etiquette and some tricks to jump roots and rocks!  For those of you who are veterans to the trail, come join the fun and pass along your insights.  We'll have a 3 and 5 mile loop marked to run, but of course you can run longer!  RSVP at https://runningfitevents.webconnex.com/hoot2012 to let us know you are IN!  Meet at 8:00 am. at the Monks Road staging area (between Kelly Rd and Cedar Lake Road)

Trail Trimming
Following the run you are invited to join us in a bit of trail stewardship! As a great big THANK YOU for being great neighbors and sharing the horse trails with some crazy runners, Running Fit is teaming up with The Pinckney Trail Riders Association for a trail maintenance day. WHAT TO BRING: Gloves & hand tools (extra if you have some),
preferably loppers if you have them and bug spray.  For trail trimming long sleeve shirts, jeans, & boots (some areas are muddy).  RSVP at https://runningfitevents.webconnex.com/hoot2012 to let us know you are IN!
