Dale Sets National Mark in Hurdles Race at Junior Olympics

Quenee Dale, a rising junior at Saline High School, set a new national record Sunday in the intermeidate girls 110 meter hurdles event at the 46th USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships held in Baltimore, Maryland. 

Dale finished the event in 13.80 seconds, beating the old record, set by Yolanda Johnson, of Denver, in 1984. She bested the Junior Olympics record of 13.87 seconds, set by Trinity Wilson in 2010. Dale's time of 13.8 seconds was .17 seconds ahead of the time posted by second place finisher Daria Cook.

Dale took third in the 100 hurdles at the state meet, finishing in 14..54 seconds. She was second in the SEC meet and regional meet to Huron senior and eventual state champ, Cindy Ofili. At the regional meet, Dale finished in 13.86 seconds, which was her best time of her high school career.
