Boxeth, O'Sullivan Win SEC Wrestling Titles

Saline finished in third place behind Bedford and Tecumseh at the SEC meet.

It's crunch time for the Saline Hornets wrestling team.

Saturday, two Hornets came away with individual championships at the SEC tournament held at Adrian High School.

Ryan Boxeth (125 pounds) and Nate O'Sullivan (130) pounds each went undefeated to win their SEC titles.

Taylor Ticknor (112 pounds) and Jason Anthony (215 pounds) each finished third place.

Alex Cornelius (140 pounds) and Ryan Wellings (152 pounds) finished fourth.

Adam Bruley (119 pounds), Doug Ayers (145 pounds) abd Brendan Helle (189 pounds) finished fifth.

Chris Slattery (160 pounds), Ryan Nagy (171 pounds) and Austin Sullivan (215 pounds) were sixth.

The Hornets finished in third place behind Bedford and Tecumseh. Last year, the Hornets were eighth at the district tournament.

It's do-or-die season now for the wrestlers.

next match is Thursday, when the Hornets host the team districts. Individual districts take place Saturday at Bedford.
