Briarwood Ford Test Drive Event Set to Raise Money for Saline Music Program

The Drive One 4 UR School test-drive event is back Saturday. Check out new vehicles from Briarwood Ford and raise funds for students.

Briarwood Ford is partnering with the Saline Music Parents for the third year in a row to raise up to $6,000 for Saline music students when Drive One 4 UR School returns to Harvest Elementary School Saturday.

The money raised this year will go toward the music program for Saline students.

"We're always happy to help out the Saline music program" said Steve Whitener, co-owner of Briarwood Ford. "And to have people test drive new products. But there's absolutely no pressure and no sales pitch. Just show up, spend a few minutes to register and take a short survey, and take a new Ford for a ride."

How It Works

For every test-driver, Ford will make a $20 donation to the school, up to $6,000. Any licensed driver 18 or older may test drive a new vehicle at the high school from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. No appointment is necessary.

The school needs 300 drivers to earn the maximum donation of $6,000.

History of Support

In May 2011, more than 300 people took Ford vehicles for a test drive during the Drive 1 4UR School event at Harvest Elementary School which raised more than $8,000 for Saline High Schools bands.

Ford Motor Company pledged to donate $20 for every test drive, up to $6,000, during the event. Ford pledged to donate $10 for every person who took a second test drive in a Ford Focus. The Focus test drives could have raised up to $2,000. With 160 people taking the Focus for a spin, the event raised about $1,600 on top of the $6,000.
