"We know the music programs can always use funds. They have a trip to Disney World planned for next spring break," said Steve Whitener, co-owner of Briarwood Ford. "This program is an opportunity for us, in conjunction with Ford Motor Company and Saline Schools to come up with a really cool way to raise funds to support the music program."

And, Whitener said, he's always happy to get someone behind the wheel of a Ford.

"We're always happy to people experience the new products we have," said Whitener. "But there's absolutely no pressure and no sales pitch. Just show up, spend a few minutes to register and take a short survey, and take a new Ford for a ride."

To help publicize the fundraiser, Briarwood Ford lent vehicles, branding Drive One 4UR School door magnets, to Saline Area Schools Superintendent Scot Graden and Principal Ben Williams.

"Obviously, it's great to have a community partner like Briarwood Ford, who works with the school and identifies a need. I see this as exactly the kind of thing we need to be doing more of," Graden said. "Steve (Whitener) is a parent and he is really helping our community with an event like this."

Graden and Williams picked up their vehicles Monday morning.

Williams, a long-time Mustang aficionado, looked forward to getting behind the wheel of the new Ford Mustang.

"It might be just what I need to convince me to get another one," said Williams, who has owned several Mustangs in his life.

Graden rolled into Briarwood Ford in his 2003 Ford Taurus with a spare. He started the week with a Ford Escape but finished with a red Ford Mustang.

"It was a lot of fun for my kids," Graden said.

Saturday's fundraiser will also feature a bake sale full of homemade baked goods. Music will be provided by Saline's award winning music programs. There will be raffle with donated gifts by Saline area business including Briarwood Ford, , B,, , , Saline High School Athletic Department, , florist and Mangiamo's Italian Grill.

For the test drive event drivers must be 18 years of age and possess a valid drivers license. Only one driver per household is permitted. Test drives will be five-to-seven minutes on a pre-determined driving route. All people who complete a questionnaire are eligible for a drawing to win a $100 Best Buy gift card.
