  • To enter the contest, high school seniors must first apply to Lawrence Tech at www.ltu.edu/futurestudents/apply.asp.
  • The essays must be submitted by email to scholarship@ltu.edu by Friday, Feb. 1.
  • Students can write up to 1,200 words on the following topic: “Are there any projects or discoveries in the realm of sustainability that will make, or have made, a positive impact on our environment? Please choose one project or discovery from any discipline and briefly explain why it was successful, why sustainability is an important idea to explore, and what the future of sustainability will hold.”

Up to 100 students who enter the essay contest will win a four-year scholarship to Lawrence Tech.

All essay winners receive a scholarship, but a second round of competition will be held to determine how large the award is for each student. Contest winners will be invited to Lawrence Tech’s campus in Southfield on Saturday, Feb. 23, to take a 90-minute written test. Students with the best scores on this test will win annual scholarships of $4,000 for four years.
