Ohl Rolls into the Quarterfinals at State Meet

The Saline sophomore finished her season strong.

Saline’s Sydney Ohl advanced to the quarterfinal in Saturday’s MHSAA Division 1 singles bowling meet in Battle Creek.

Ohl, who placed fourth in her region to make the state meet, placed 14th in the qualifying block to advance to the final 16. She bowled a 1,073 in six games. Here high was a 215 in the fourth game.

In the final 16, Ohl upset Portage Central senior Torri Ferris, who was third in the qualifying block. Ohl won, 387-314, bowling games of 205 and 182.

Her season game to an end in the quarterfinals, where she lost 394-336 to Chippewa Valley’s Kristen Young. Young advance to the finals, where she lost to Ann Arbor Huron’s Allison Morris.
