Foundation Launches 'Kids Who Read Succeed' Campaign In Support of Saline Schools

The Foundation for Saline Area Schools hopes to raise $70,000 to help the school district purchase new classroom libraries.

Recent studies show that students who don't read well by third grade are more likely to drop out or fail to finish high school.

In an effort to make sure as many students as possible are reading at high levels, the district is aiming to restock every elementary school classroom with new books are designed to help teachers individually tailor reading curriculum to a student's ability.

With school resources stretched thin, the Foundation for Saline Area Schools has kicked off the "Kids Who Read Succeed" campaign, hoping to raise $70,000 that will go to funding the purchase of the curriculum. Last year, the the curriculum at Saline Middle School.
