Stanowski Edges Tellas in York Supervsior Race
Incumbent Supervsior Joe Zurawski finished a distant third.
Changes are in store for York Township.
Incumbent Supervisor Joe Zurawski was defeated in Tuesday’s Republican Primary. He finished a distant third behind winner John Stanowski, who defeated Chuck Tellas by 13 votes (369-356). Zurawski finished with 139 votes.
If the vote stands, Stanowski will face Democratic candidate Joan Alexander in the November election. Alexander tallied 254 votes unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Clerk Helen Neill and Treasurer Sally won their primaries and unopposed in November.
Brian Iott (555), Dan Pichla (505), Jill Hargrove (464) and Jane Kartje (417) were the four Republicans to move on to the November election in the trustee vote. Hargove and Kartje are incumbents. Thomas Preston finished fifth with 396 votes.

Incumbent Democratic candidate Gary Zajac also moves on to the November election. He finished with 232 votes.
York Township voters also approved a renewal of the .5-mill public safety levy for six years.
