Saline Seeks Public Input for Chief Search

City council is hosting a townhall forum Feb. 15.

City Council is seeking the imput of city residents as it begins the process of searching for a new chief of police.

Council will be hosting a townhall meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 and the city hall council chamber. Saline residents and businesses will be asked what character traits they believe are essential for the next Saline police chief to be successful.

The city is working with Terry McGinn of Career Directions, an executive search firm based out of Ann Arbor, to aid in facilitating the search for a new police chief. The data collection process will include information gathering from the tow hall meeting, a meeting with city department heads and a meeting with Saline Police Department personnel. The information received via this process will help in developing a candidate profile, which is a critical component of the position posting, according to a press release issued by the city.

“This townhall meeting is extremely important for residents and local businesses to attend, as the information received will help to determine the foundation for the candidate profile for the next Saline police chief,” said Mayor Gretchen Driskell in a press relsease.
