Rep. Ouimet Announces Local Senior Brigade Event

The AG's office will advise on safeguarding seniors from fraud June 20 in Scio Township.

State Rep. Mark Ouimet is inviting Washtenaw County senior citizens to a special Senior Brigade event in Scio Township on June 20 to learn how to recognize and avoid identity theft.

A representative from the attorney general's office who is an expert on senior fraud issues will present valuable information to help protect against identify theft and keep seniors safe online.

"Identity theft is a serious concern for all of us, but senior citizens especially should learn how to avoid this malicious crime," said Ouimet, R-Scio Township. "Scam artists do target older people for financial gain, and the best line of defense is knowledge. I encourage all area seniors to attend this free and informative event."
