Mike Lindman Recommended for Interim Police Chief Post

Saline city manager Todd Campbell and Mayor Gretchen Driskell are recommending retired Garden City Police Chief Mike Lindman as Saline's interim police chief.

Also considered were Rachel Sodowski-Spiegel, former police chief of the Pokogon Band of Potawatami Indians, and Jim Ridener, retired Westland police chief.

Lindman retired after a 26-year career from Garden City. He was also crime prevention officer, detective sergeant, patrol lieutenant and investigative lieutenant.

The 40-hour a week position could have an annual salary of $80,289.

The city is expected to begin a search for the permanent chief in January.
