City Council Recognizes Active Young Citizen Hogikyan

senior Julia Hogikyan was recognized for her volunteer work by Saline City Council last week.

Hogikyan was one of three finalists for Saline Youth of the Year. The award was presented to Maura McCann at Saline Salutes. Hayley Byrnes was the other finalist.

Saline City Council member Dean Girbach, council's liaison on the Saline Youth Council, and Saline Parks and Recreation's Jody Roberts, who presides over the youth council, recognized Hogikyan at last Monday's meeting.

"This girl is doing a lot for the community," said Girbach, "and we really appreciate it."

Hogikyan was nominated by Cindy Czubko, Kelly Barbret and Kristen Glatz.
