Blast or Bust? What Did You Think of the 4th of July Fireworks After Michigan's New Law?

Everywhere in southeast Michigan Wednesday night, fireworks, smoke and lots of pops and booms filled the air. Folks were amused and/or annoyed with the results of the new law. What did you think?

State law now allows had people reacting Wednesday night.

There were far more pops and booms and sparks in the air far and wide in Saline. Some were thrilled with the spectacle. Others were miffed with the noise and smoke.

What did you think? Tell us in comments or in the poll.

The fireworks are great fun and a perfect way to celebrate July 4th. Too many people have become self centered and self absorbed where any tolerance of others is not possible. Time to wake up folks or move to a country where tolerance is not allowed. Try any militant dictatorship. But my guess is you will not like it.

Wow! After reading your rant I would like to ask who it is that is not very tolerant of others that may have a different opinion? When everything being as dry as they are around the state, I don't think it is a good idea to allow non-professionals to have neighborhood firework shows and possibly injure a bystander or private property. As a tax payer I don't really want to possiblly pay for others carelessness mixed with holiday beverages.

This country was not formed to be a "Nanny State". Too many individuals have died to preserve our liberty! With freedom comes responsibility. Fire crackers of any size should be allowed. They must be used with care and consideration of other peoples personal rights and property. As long as you don't infringe on the rights of others...let the fireworks begin!

Combined with "Mother Nature's" fireworks, it was very difficult to sleep last night! I feel there should be a cut-off time (11:00 PM?) for neighborhood fireworks. There ARE some people who have to get up and go to work the next morning.

It is amazing, somehow we survived the new fireworks freedoms!
