Saline Police Investigating Break-in at Saline Pharmacy

Police believe the break-in may be tied to similar incidents in neighboring towns.

Detective Don Lupi said the incident might be related to break-ins that have occurred at pharmacies in nearby communities.

“We are working with other police departments and attempting to locate the individuals responsible for the break-ins,” Lupi said.

The break-in at Saline Pharmacy occurred shortly before 5 a.m., July 21.

Police responded to an intrusion alarm at the pharmacy, located at 75 E. Bennett, and saw the front door to the building had been pried open.

Police said it appeared suspects jumped over the counter to access a counter holding medication. Several containers of drugs were taken.

The pharmacy’s owner told police that the drugs taken were not controlled and don’t have much street value. The drugs were taken from shelves that once housed Oxycontin and Hydrocodone. The store was re-arranged , he told police.
