Saline Man Charged With Making A False Report Against MSU Hockey Players Reaches Deal

The Saline man charged with numerous crimes stemming from the filing of a false police report against an MSU hockey player has taken a plea bargin according to reports.

Former Michigan State University student Brandon Carmack has accepted a plea deal Wednesday according to MLive.

He was charged with filing a false police report, a felony, and four misdemeanors: two counts of stalking and one count apiece of stalking and domestic violence.

Carmack, of Saline, had claimed he was assaulted by members of the MSU hockey team but police later indicated his injuries stemmed from a domestic assault.

MLive reports that Carmack pleaded guilty to to misdemeanor stalking, filing a false report of a misdemeanor and third-degree home invasion.

He's expected to be sentenced on July 10.

MLive states the third-degree home invasion is the most severe charge Carmack faces. The felony is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $2,000 fine.
