Police Seek Help Locating Suspect in Blissfield Double Homicide

Thomas Jack Fritz, 38, of Sylvania, Ohio, is wanted in connection with the death of two sisters in Blissfield.

Law enforcement agencies are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man suspected of shooting two sisters to death in the Village of Blissfield Friday night.

The Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized a three-count felony warrant against Thomas Jack Fritz, 38, of Sylvania, Ohio. The warrant includes two counts of open-murder and one count of assault with intent to commit murder, according to Crime Stoppers of Lenawee County.

Police have identified Fritz’s victims as Amy Lynn Merrill, 33 years of age, former girlfriend of Fritz; and Lisa Michelle Gritzmaker, 24 years of age, pregnant sister of Merrill. Merril is survived by three children, according to the Adrian Daily Telegram. Gritzmaker is survived by two daughters. Robin Lynn McCowan, 52 years of age, mother of Merrill and Gritzmaker, received non-fatal injuries and remains hospitalized. They were killed in a home on Lane Street, just a block south of downtown. It is Blissfield’s first homicide investigation in 40 years, according to the Toledo Blade.

Fritz, 38, is described as a white male, 5’9,” 186 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a burgundy or maroon 2002 Honda, four-door with Ohio registration of EQP8075. 

Fritz is considered armed and dangerous, according to Lenawee Crime Stoppers. If spotted, citizens should not approach him but call police immediately, according to Lenawee Crimestoppers.
