Police Report: Thieves Targetting Pole Barns

Police respond to reports of thefts from York Township pole barns.

There were two reported pole barn burglaries in Monday or Tuesday, according to a report issued by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

Sometime between midnight and 10 a.m. Tuesday, tools were taken from a barn on the 9000 block of Carpenter Road, north of Judd Road. Deputies determined that the suspect or suspects pried open a door to gain entry.

Sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, entry was gained into a pole barn on the 1000 block of West Judd Road. Power tools were taken. Once again, the door was pried open.

A similar complaint was handled on the 7000 block of Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti Township. A generator and tools were taken from a garage on the 7000 block of Tuttle Hill Road during the same time frame.

There are no suspects.
