They work all of the parades and community events. They ride patrol with the officers, assist in officer training, and are versed in most functions within the department including dispatch. The purpose of the unit is to give young adults who feel that they are interested in a law enforcement career some exposure to real police work. The department has had several of our cadets go on to very successful law enforcement careers.
