2 Teens Dead Following Pittsfield Township Crash

Two teenagers were killed and three people were critically injured in a rollover accident on U.S. 23 in Pittsfield Township just before 3 p.m. Friday, according to AnnArbor.com and other news sources.

WWJ reports that Michigan State Police are looking for a light gray Honda Odyssey minivan with a temporary license plate. The radio station is reporting that it drove away from the scene after the collision with the family’s SUV.

Two teens, one male and one female, were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Huron Valley Ambulance spokesperson Joyce Williams. Both were in a Ford Expedition  that rolled multiple times. Pittsfield Police and Fire and the Michigan State Police responded. There were five paramedic units from Huron Valley Ambulance on the scene. One unit transported a critical patient to the University of Michigan Hospital. A second unit transported a stable child, who was in a car seat, and an unstable patient to the University of Michigan. Two more unstable patients were transported to St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor.

The crash has closed southbound U.S. 23, south of Michigan Avenue, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department. The road could be closed for up to two hours. Pittsfield Township Police have closed the Michigan Avenue southbound exit to U.S. 23.
