All Saline Schools Locked Down as Police Investigate Possible Bank Robbery at TCF

Police tracked down a suspect vehicle but found no subjects inside.

All of Saline Area Schools are on lockdown, according to a Saline Area Schools official, after a bank robbery was reported in Saline this morning.

The schools were locked down as Saline Police investigate a robbery of the  at 1301 E. Michigan Ave.

Saline Area Schools Assistant Superintendent Steve Laatsch said the district was told by Saline Police that suspects in the reported robbery remained on the loose. He said police tracked down the suspect vehicle but found no subjects inside.

Saline Police officials could not confirm the robbery, saying that they were working on an emergency situation.

The incident comes on a day when students from Harvest and Pleasant Ridge Elementary were at Saline High School for "Field Day." Laatsch said school officials secured the Saline High School football stadium. Those students are now being transported back to their schools, Laatsch said.

The district will continue to communicate with parents throughout the day, Laatsch said.

• All Saline Area Schools are on lockdown.

• Students from Harvest and Pleasant Ridge at the high school for field day are being transported back to their schools.

• Afternoon kindergarten has been canceled.

• End of day plans have not yet been made.
