SALINE WINTER FARMERS MARKET GRAND OPENING

Join us for our Winter Farmers Market grand opening at Liberty School.

Join us for the grand opening for the Saline Winter Farmers Market this Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at Liberty School.

We will have a ribbon cutting at 9AM sponsored by the Saline Chamber of Commerce. Refreshments provided by our vendors will be served.

Our opening day on Saturday, Nov. 5 was a great success.  I heard people say things like, “wow, I didn’t know the market was going to be so big,” and “this is a really great market.”

We had 30 vendors (even more vendors will join us on November 19 and through the holiday season) selling a wide variety of produce – there is still an abundance of fall produce such as winter squash, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, onions, potatoes, greens, lettuce, cabbage, peppers, and more as well as specialty foods such as applesauce and sauerkraut.  Fall fruit items include apples, cider, jam/jellies, and apple butter.

Christmas greens and wreaths are beautiful and decorative and we have an abundance of them.

A big seller at our market is our delicious baked goods such as donuts, breads, cookies, granola, muffins, pies, and brownies and bread mix to make your own bread.  Also available is a variety of candies including fudge, chocolate covered goodies, English toffee, chocolate bars, cocoa powder, baking chunks, cocoa nibs, whole cocoa beans, and truffles.

Specialty items such as delicious maple syrup, coffee and fresh local cheese are popular items for our customers.  A particularly big seller is our fresh local eggs.

Hand-crafted items include goat milk soaps, beautiful jewelry, handmade wooden bowls, pen/pencils, key chains, desk sets, letter openers, salt and pepper shakers as well as handmade aprons, bibs, towels, and baskets filled with scented pine cones.  Also offered are body balms, body oils, soaps and handmade alpaca and woolen items including socks, scarves, wraps and blankets. Candles to decorate your holiday table are plentiful as well as natural media crafts such as wreaths, medicine wheels, rattles, and smudge.  More beautiful crafts will be offered for the Holiday.
