Linda Conrad of Mama Mofoods from Munith, comes to the market twice a month (July 16 and 30, Aug. 6 and 20, Sept. 3 and 17) to offer her delectable hummus and creamy pesto.
It’s so much fun watching customers taste all the different kinds of hummus as well as Linda’s pesto, states Market Manager, Nancy Crisp. Kita’s Hummus (as Linda calls her special hummus) is fresh, locally made, organic and local ingredients.
Kita’s Hummus is made with great care using quality ingredients that begin with organic garbanzo beans, fresh squeezed lemon juice, organic tahini and fresh garlic.
“Our joy is to explore new blends and nuanced flavors from the traditional classics to the truly unique. Our small batch size insures our high quality standards while incorporating local and organic ingredients when possible.
Special varieties include: traditional, lemon zest, roasted pepper, tomato basil, roasted beet, ginger squash, roasted garlic, onion dill, kalamata rose, curry lime, tangerine cranberry orange, black pepper walnut, sesame chive satay, horseradish, jalapeno, chipotle, and wasabi.Fun ways to use hummus: make sauces for pasta, grains, vegetable dishes, eggs, fish…you get the idea. Just dilute to the consistency you prefer. Experiment with broth, cream, wine or just good ol’ water. Embellish with whatever you’re in the mood for. That goes for soup too!
