Adult auditioners should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theater song.  Kids will be asked to sing a portion of The Candy Man - see website at www.salineareaplayers.org for details.  The song will be taught at auditions and also at the audition workshop on January 13. All will be asked to do cold readings from the script and improvisational exercises. Those auditioning should also bring a list of their conflicts between February 11 and April 21.  Men, women and children/teens are needed for this cast.

Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka is a musical play that combines elements of both Roald Dahl's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and of the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory with newly created material. This timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryWilly Wonka runs a contest in which the 5 lucky people who find Golden Tickets inside Wonka bars win a tour of the chocolate factory and a lifetime supply of chocolate.  As they go through the tour, the temptations abound and some find they can’t resist what’s inside, with calamitous results.   Familiar songs include Pure Imagination and The Candy Man plus many more.
