Student Activism: A Day at the (Congressional) Office

We took a quick trip to Representative Fred Upton's office to ask for his support in the global fight against HIV/AIDS.

On July 23rd, three ONE Campaign volunteers stopped by Representative Fred Upton's district office in Kalamazoo, MI to deliver a petition signed by 150+ of his constituents asking him to support life-saving, effective HIV/AIDS programs. These programs - PEPFAR and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria - have already provided millions of impoverished individuals with lifesaving medication and preventative care, but why stop there? Our goal is to see an AIDS free generation by 2015 and with the support of fellow Michigan constituents helping to engage our members of Congress, we can make it happen.

It may seem impossible that we can end the AIDS epidemic in the near future - but believe Zach Galifianakis when he says we can.
