Holiday Fun for the Family

Sometimes you want to stay home on a holiday, and sometimes you want to get out.

If would like to get out and have some family fun on the holidays, perhaps to let the kids burn up some energy and excitment, or to simply have some time together, we're here to help.

Make it a Movie Day, Part II

Blockbuster Video will be open both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so you can pick up a movie, a season of a TV series or a game to amuse you. Holiday hours aren't quite set yet, so call the store to be certain of when their open-and-close times.

Temple Beth Emeth presents a special animated double feature, The Prince of Egypt and Joseph: King of Dreams, playing 10:30 a.m. Dec. 25. Doors open at 10 a.m., and the first movie starts at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $7.50 in advance, or $8 at the door. Door prizes and special concession items will be available as well.
The Michigan Theater is also showing The Artist at 3, 6:15 and 8:30 p.m., A Christmas Carol at 4 p.m., and The Descendants at 6 and 8:45 p.m. Ticket prices for Michigan Theater movies are $10 general admission; $8 students with ID, veterans, seniors 55+ and children under 12; $7.50 for members.

The Metroparks have a gift for people on Christmas, as it's "Appreciation Day." Park entry is free that day and boat launch fees are waived as well. Explore the Huron River, cycle the hike-bike trail, or explore the Acorn Nature Trail and more.
