Milan Summer Fest Incredible 5K run benefits Relay for Life team

A second-annual benefit run next month in Milan gains an additional sponsor this year. Aven, Inc., an Ann Arbor supplier of optical instruments and precision tools, is helping support the Milan Summer Fest Incredible 5K on Aug. 3.

The activity raises donations for the American Cancer Society on behalf of Team Incredible, six women and two men participating in a Relay for Life event in Milan on Aug. 24-25.

Team Incredible is led by Sue Collins of Say Yes Fitness and Milan
Physical Therapy, local businesses that began sponsoring the 5K race last August.

"We're proud to join this community effort for a worthy cause,"
says Mark Kanpurwala, director of sales and operations at Aven. "We're a global company that began 30 years ago in this part of Southeast Michigan, and

this is one way to be a good corporate neighbor."

Team Incredible members already have raised more than $2,500 this year for
research and patient support services by the American Cancer Society.

The 5K race, which follows a fun run for youngsters, is part of a Summer

Fest that includes a car show, Rotary Club pancake breakfast in Wilson Park, a fire department pig roast in the evening and numerous activities all day in downtown Milan. Festival chairmen are Councilman Michael Williams and
Dr. Eduardo Enrique of Milan Physical Therapy.
